That's very cool!

I guess some bad apple Eric fans have been bashing her on her site (someone even called her mom's business??? that ain't right), and she's responded that he was the one saying bad things about her first. But then she calls him a "rat in the house" among other things.
I was and still am a fan of Janelle, so I really wish Eric hadn't said those things about her in the first place, but I haven't seen any Eric fans on this site (especially me) say anything bad about her.
Anyway, it'd be nice if everyone could just rise above it and ask her about something more interesting. But I'm not holding my breath...

boy, this thread is getting ALOT of play! Personally, I hope ED and Janelle hook up after the show. They'd make a great couple!

Let us now pause to take stock of what Big Brother has become. It is a place that, if in enemy hands, would be akin to a POW torture camp. It allows a middle-aged, crude so-called adult to hurl racist, sexist insults at young women and homophobic insults at young men. It requires men and women alike to strip naked on the CBS stage in the name of competition. It provides poor food and unsanitary living conditions. It allows for constant defamation of character. It showcases lying as an art. It defames religion. It inflicts great stress, complete with physical and mental discomfort. Ah, yes, the Tiffany Network is no more. Bill Paley must be spinning in his grave.

Geno - Do not tell me who I should ignore!
I can talk with whomever I choose to! GENO - YOU KNOW I DID NOT POST THE ABOVE!! I cannot believe how many people have time to come on this blog and imitate others!

4. Jessica who is turning into a spoiled brat that has never worked in the house and has baby talked her way to this point and is now acting like a 3 year old - AMELIAK - I totally agree with that, she is about to drive me crazy!! She pouts worse than any kid I have ever seen.

As for Dani & her boyfriend, it is my understanding, they were in the process of spliting up when she came in the house. Last night on the feeds, she was talking to Zach about having her stuff moved out and having to find a new place when she gets back. So I really do not think she was cheating on him - anymore than Eric is cheating on Cheryl with Jess.

Finally, I do think Dani is a bit immature and still has some growing up to do but she is a hell of a lot better than Jessica who acts like she is still going thru the terrible 2's!

I agree GentleRoger. It's a sad truth... But they are there by choice and can walk out anytime they want to, unlike a POW camp. Viewers can turn off the television or change the channel anytime too.

Prez- would I marry someone who talked to me that way? Hell no. Relax, sweetie, I knew you didn't write it, just like you should all know by now what I do and don't write! I'm all about the game, and asking questions of other posters when I have them. We'll let the child write the rest!

GentleRoger- interesting twist, but it's not exactly an "overnight" change, and hardly to the blame of BB8.

In this age of "celebreality" and their 15 minutes of fame, when shows like this advertise for players, they only get about 100K applicants. I am sickened by the ants, and can't believe they haven't solved that issue yet, but the food is made up from a list of food PROVIDED BY THE PLAYERS THEMSELVES! Haven't you ever lived dorm-style? It's all about pizza and beer, folks!
Great stress? Mental and physical discomfort? Helllooo! Do you not work? Do you not play sports? exercise? go to school? You are merely describing all of those things as well. They SIGNED UP for it, and are being compensated handsomely.

Regarding your description of ED, of which I couldn't disagree more, I don't recall anything racist coming from his mouth. The "sexist" and "homophobic" comments, while surly, were in response to attacks against him. Yes, I will defend him. I guess it didn't matter that the target of the sexist remarks physically assaulted him, or that the target of the homophobic insults had earlier called him "white trash deadbeat loser".

BB8 didn't create racism, or sexism or violence, or defamation of religion, or anything else you claim. It allows a window into the society which was created by you, by me, and by everyone around you. If you want to claim that the only thing is society created and influenced by your input is "perfection", then so be it. You're living in the dream world. These people are YOUR friends, YOUR neighbors, YOUR church members, YOUR co-workers, and yes, even YOUR family members, as well as mine. Their actions and reactions are magnified for entertainment purposes and motivated by manna. Most of these people are quite different on the outside, I assure you.

Here's the clincher, GentleRoger; YOU have the power to make this ALL go away if you'd like. You can stop watching CBS, you can stop buying their advertisers products, and you can change the channel. Fairly simple.

This is not an attack against you. I respect your point of view. I just have a different perception of the same two dimensions.

Yes, BBF, I realize the players are there by choice. But I also realize that a network that exploits people and their darkest emotions is a pretty slimy network. Big Brother has become a showcase for bigotry, incivility, dishonesty and abuse. CBS may have a right to do business that way but that doesn't make it right. Keep being a fan if you like, but realize that if it walks like an irresponsible network and quacks like one it is the once-proud CBS network.
(By the way, Big Brother could be just as entertaining without all the bigotry and incivility. But that might require a little creativity and imagination, which is harder to come by.)

Well said genuinegeno. Networks carry a variety of programming for all walks of life, and they market to the viewers. They arent forcing anyone to disagree with each other in the house. The house is just like the outside world, but smaller. Different strokes for different folks. We are all different and have different life experiences. These players knew the rules before committing to the show. I don't associate or spend any time with most types of players in the BB house, and its interesting to see how different people act when given certain obstacles. It doesnt make it a "nice" thing to do, but neither is honking the horn at someone on the road, or bashing people on a blog. It's called being HUMAN and living your life with freedom to make your own choices! If you're going to blame someone, blame the 7 deadly sins that we all have inside of us to tempt us everyday! Just say NO and live your own life the right way, and hopefully good things will follow. I think the Disney channel has reruns of hannahmontanna that might be a better choice for all of us, but then again, there are controversial ethical issues discussed on that show as well... I guess we just have to depend on our own moral backbones to remember what is right, what is wrong, and how we should carry ourselves through life. There are only about a million different views on the subject.

Geno, at the risk of belaboring my argument--and I was not offended by your posting, by the way--I would remind you that just because something exists or is even widespread doesn't mean a network should amplify and televise it, much less encourage it. Media exposure has a way of legitimizing things that shouldn't be. At the same time, it can help make those things "uncool" simply by decreeing that televising them vilolates reasonable standards of decency and acceptabilty, quaint as that may sound. Television may be a reflector but it is also an affector. It is a fact too often ignored by the people who control or large, pervasive and most influential media, including CBS.
Think of it this way--would Big Brother episodes featuring child sexual abuse be unworthy of condemnation purely because child sexual abuse happens in modern society? Would the viewer/citizen be truly meeting his or her responsibilities merely by changing channels or boycotting advertisers? Is exploitation of society's darker side made even more shameful if done in the name of "entertainment"? I think we both would agree on the answers to those admittedly rhetorical questions.

I hope someone asks Janelle how much they paid her to tell Dick he looked hot. Gag me with a ciggie! Janelle doesn't need flab, flatulence, over forty. It had to be scripted. I wonder what else is scripted?

I totally agree with ED and Janelle's scripted flirtation! It made me gag too. And Eric's mimicking Dick was also over the top, but the houseguest didnt think he was completely insane... Wonder how much of that wasnt a complete and total secret to the other houseguests? They HAD to know something fishy was going on!

GentleRoger- I see your point, and in some areas I am playing devil's advocate, as I hate CBS more than almost anyone. I agree, because it does exist doesn't mean we have to amplify it and televise it, but look at our culture and who "we" cater to- the 14-25 yr. old, well out of my demographic. How many times do we need to see or hear about Paris, Nichole and Lyndsay? How many times do we need to see the Twin Towers fall or JFK having his head blown off? Isn't there an oversaturation point? Yes- it is called ratings, and when the ratings fall, as they did with Trump's "Apprentice", the product will either be changed, improved or removed.

In some areas, such as racism and hate speech, etc. (which some posters on this blog alone would have legal difficulty if identified), exposure to those societal ill's are necessary. The KKK needs exposure, as do anti-semites, terrorists, neo-nazi skinheads, etc. Like roaches, exposure to the light will scatter them. Geraldo Rivera has this same theory, and it is what drives him in his work every day.

Using child abuse as an example is absurd, of course, but NBC certainly has "exposed" child predators through their series. It doesn't legitimize it or make it "cool".

It is refreshing to have intelligent debate with a worthy "opponent". My gratitude. We are, perhaps, overanalyzing BB8 however. As relaxitsjustagame says, "relax, it's just a game"!

i hate myself because i'm impotent and genuinegeno the same guy. ok.
i'm new here, so i'm just trying to figure it all out...
Quick question though- Do we know for sure from the live feeds that Danielle didnt use the POV? I apoligize for not being up to par on the latest details... It's been a busy week!

BBFan, we know it from the broadcast show last night actually. Daniele did not use the PoV.

Oh, I'm sorry. I was interrupted before the end of the show. Thank you.

Hello dare!

So there was no America's Player vote yesterday that would seem to cover the scenario of Eric winning HoH tomorrow. Does that mean America has no say in the nominations if he does win? Or if he wins PoV? Do they really have a PoV in a double-eviction night? Seems like they wouldn't have time for one. My memory isn't what it once was, but I seem to recall that when HoH wins on a double-eviction night, he or she is immediately asked to make nominations and then they are asked to vote right after that, no time for campaigning or strategizing. Of course, with a PoV, there's no time for campaigning and strategizing either, so maybe I am mis-remembering.

Did anyone else catch Dani and Dick talking on BBAD about their last-minute deal with Jameka? I know Dick told Jameka she is leaving as a way to keep E&J from guessing their plan, but it's a two-fold plan. They want Jameka scared when they offer her a deal tomorrow right before the eviction. On BBAD, I heard Dani warning Dick that they can't trust Jameka to stick to any deal at this point and Dick said, "Oh, I'll make her..." and then they were interrupted by Zach coming outside.

random- I heard (on AD) Jameka tell Jess she would never make a deal to stay. She told Jess that she wouldn't still be here this long without Jess' help, so she was not taking any deals. If she goes, she goes. I think she's convinced that Jess is going.

Quite frankly, I don't know what they're going to do!

I hope Jameka stays true to the no deal. Be strong! Someone's gotta show some character at some point.

Did anyone notice on other websites about BB8 that Jen's picture is different from the one that she hated so much??

How come Daniele only want Dick to go away, when she doesn't need him in the game, is she using her own dad, I am not a fan of Dicks', but I feel soory for him, he is trying to talk to Daniele, and all she does is whines, and walks away, until she needs him for the show, I hope she doesn't win just for that purpose, I hope Jameka wins, she has change he game plan, hasn't switch side, for whoever was in charge, and she is still in the game for not playing for the HOH, and another point, whoever is on the block is always pissed looking, any one of them have acting like Jameka and Jess, put yourself in their shoes, no one like to be put up for nomination.....go Dick or Jameka........

Welcome to the blog, new! Most of us agree with you right down the line!
